Cause of explosion:  Richard Bowden testified that the driver passed him at a point of about 400 feet from the face with a naked light and a safety lamp, and supposed the gas to ignite from the driver's naked light, and that it was probable that the gas extend further back than usual, owing to the men hurrying to load the car.
