This project is a memorial to all the miners who died in the various disasters of the Chesterfield County, Virginia coal mines.  The project's goal is to create a list of the men who died in each disaster with a link to each man's Geni profile.

A blast at the Clover Hill Company's Cox pit kills seven in 1850.  Two more are killed at the pit in a landslide the following year.  Also in 1854, an explosion in pits near Midlothian kills 20.  Those same pits experience an explosion in 1855 that kills 55.
