Mining Poetry by Joel Tankersley
E Fraturnus Absurdum
E Fraturnus Absurdum,
we are all brothers it is plain.
No matter it's coal or metal
it truly is the same.
Our life among the diggins
spoilpile of our birth.
We never see the apex
and what I sweat is worth.
Yes we climb life's grand headframe
that headgear deck by deck.
Heat and damp will hold us
on this we can reflect.
Sit down my friends when things are tough
and ponder things no fun.
Remember this rule of mining
"It's hard to outsmart dumb".
