We heard the thunder, saw the lightning flash; this far below, it's a killer blast. Dark and damp, so hard to breathe; the air is heavy, and we cannot see. Down here we know, time's not on our side; no pain at all, we're just getting tired. Our hearts are strong, but the poison seeps; we kneel and pray, and drift away. Now I lay down and it feels like sleep; I pray o lord, our souls to keep. I will die, before I wake; O lord, our souls are for you to take. Musical interlude Miners' we were, with a job done underground; but now we are heaven bound. The next tunnel we see, will not be a rail to hell; but light divine, only time will tell. So you should know, we're with you every day; no need to cry, we'll see you on the other side. We'll see you on the other side, we'll see you on the other side. Repeat |
